Bagnell Dam

Bagnell Dam was the largest - and last - major dam in the U.S. to be built with private investment. 

Bagnell Dam is one-half mile long, rising 148 feet high from bedrock. That’s comparable to a building 12 stories high and seven blocks long. It holds back 600 billion gallons of water.

Lake of the Ozarks State Park

Lake of the Ozarks State Park is a Missouri state park on the Grand Glaize Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks and is the largest state park in the state. This is also the most popular state park in Missouri

Scenic Overlooks

If you're looking for free things to do on your vacation at Lake of the Ozarks, one of the many scenic overlooks are a great option. These lookouts have magnificent views and are a great way to see the beautiful landscape of the area.

Wilmore Lodge

The historic Willmore Lodge is home to the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Bagnell Dam History Museum and Visitor Center.

Ha Ha Tonka State Park

With its intriguing history and outstanding geologic features, Ha Ha Tonka State Park is one state park that should not be missed. The park is a geologic wonderland featuring sinkholes, caves, a huge natural bridge, sheer bluffs and Missouri’s 12th largest spring. The ruins of a turn-of-the-century stone castle overlook these wonders and offer impressive views of the Lake of the Ozarks and Ha Ha Tonka Spring.

A series of trails and boardwalks makes it easy for visitors to experience all the park has to offer, from its historic castle and geologic wonders to its wooded areas and open rocky glades. Picnic sites beckon visitors for a relaxing lunch in a scenic setting unparalleled in the lake area. All these fascinating elements combine to create a park that can be explored and enjoyed time after time.

Larry R Gale Acess

The Larry R. Gale Access is located in Camden County. The Larry R. Gale Access, on the Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks, provides public access and boat launching facilities.The boat launch is lighted and is open all hours on a year-round basis. Facilities include parking for 50 vehicles and boat trailers, a two-lane launching ramp, courtesy docks, disabled-accessible privies, a disabled-accessible fishing dock and disabled-accessible walkways, which connect parking, privies, and other facilities.The Conservation Department purchased 195 acres for the Larry R. Gale Access in 1988. The Access was developed and opened to the public in 1991.

The Strip

The Strip is actually known as the Bagnell Dam Strip. This strip is located just south of the Bagnell Dam and hosts a large load of restaurants, bars, and shopping stores for you to choose from. Several events are held at the strip like Hot Summer Nights, Bikefest, and the Magic Dragon Car Show.

Ozarks Amphitheater, recently named the “Best Live Music Venue in Missouri”, is located  in the heart of the beautiful Lake of the Ozarks.  The amphitheater has recently hosted such well-known headline acts as Alabama, Dwight Yoakam and Jamie Johnson, with more great coming attractions. A concert under the stars at Ozarks Amphitheater is  a great addition to a long summer weekend at the lake.
