Welcome fellow adventurers, photographers and all around enthusiasts! Do you need special gear for an epic adventure? It depends on your level of comfort and standards. In my humble opinion, have the adventure! Be safe! You will find a list below of some of our favorite gear, It is by no means the must haves for exciting fun.
Hiking Gear

There a million sites and blogs comparing hiking boots, quick dry pants, super warm jackets, and the best "do it all camera." My advice- Be safe- be comfortable- use what you have! Collect memories and experiences along the way. Use www.bestphotospot.com as a guide to get you in the right direction, but enjoy the trip!
Camera
DSLR, Mirrorless, Cell Phone, Action Cam.... the answer is YES!!! all of them!! A camera is just a box to help you control light hitting a sensor. Does a Canon R5 create a better image than an iPhone 13? maybe, but there are always trade offs. Use what you have, max out its capabilities- learning as you go, then upgrade when it makes sense.
